BASQUIAT (1996)

I randomly picked this one up after seeing David Bowie on the cover as Andy Warhol. It was one of the better decisions I’ve made in my life. This movie was incredible right from the start. When a movie starts off with one of your favorite all time songs (Fairytale of New York by The Pogues), you know it’s going to be good. The soundtrack alone is worth the rent. Great performances all around. I especially enjoyed Claire Forlani (Mallrats, Meet Joe Black, Boys And Girls) and David Bowie as Warhol. He WAS Warhol. I guess I could really attach myself to this one because a lot of my good friends are artists. A very well done biopic about an amazing artist.  Rated R for language and drug use.  BrendoMan's Rating: A
